Introducing Nagaoka
Founded in 1940 in Japan as a manufacturer of precision clock parts, Nagaoka has emerged as a world leader in the production of phono cartridges and styli. In fact, it can count itself as an original influencer in the analogue world, today producing around 90 percent of the world’s diamond styli.
Over the last five decades Japanese micro-fabricator Nagaoka has become one of the world’s major and most influential suppliers of vinyl pick up technology. It may not the most familiar brand name but it’s likely you’ll have listened to its technology, as most of the world’s leading cartridge companies use Nagaoka styli. Meanwhile its innovative lightweight ‘Moving Permalloy’ (MP) cartridge technology has for decades allowed it to champion the advantages of low moving mass. SDD’s Nagaoka range comprises six ‘MP’ cartridge models and replacement styli, two ‘JT’ series MM designs with replacement styli, and a line of vinyl accessories.
